Galfer post mount adapter +20 mm

With the Galfer Postmount Adapter +20 mm, you can mount a brake disc that is 20 mm larger. According to Galfer, it is suitable for the following transitions:

• 160 to 180 mm, front and rear
• 180 to 200 mm, front and rear
• 203 to 223 mm, front only

Which adapter do you need?

A postmount adapter moves the brake caliper further outward to accommodate a larger disc. The correct adapter depends on the disc size for which the mount on your fork or frame was designed. The difference relative to the desired disc determines the necessary offset. Galfer offers postmount adapters in +20 mm, +23 mm, +43 mm, and +63 mm sizes. Please note the maximum disc size approved by your fork and frame manufacturer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need +20 or +23 mm for a 203 mm disc?

It depends on the mount: If it is designed for 180 mm, you need the +23 mm adapter for a 203 mm disc, and the +20 mm adapter for a 200 mm disc. If it is designed for 160 mm, you need the +43 mm adapter for a 203 mm disc.

How do I know what size disc my mount is designed for?

Check the documentation for your fork or frame – it will state the base size, usually 160 or 180 mm. If it is not listed, send us the brand, model, and year.
