Stashed: SpaceRail bike storage from Wales
Stashed Products is a Welsh manufacturer of bike storage, founded by design engineer Elliot Tanner. Stashed is known for the SpaceRail: a track with sliding, rotating hooks that allows bikes to be hung from the ceiling or wall to save space.
Elliot Tanner was looking for a solution to store multiple bikes at home safely and efficiently. This led to the creation of the SpaceRail, which launched in 2022. It is developed and manufactured in Abermule, Wales. In 2025, Stashed received the UK's King's Award for Innovation.
How the Stashed SpaceRail saves space
Conventional hooks require 350 to 400 mm of space per bike, often at different heights. On the SpaceRail, the hooks slide along a track and rotate 360°. This allows the bikes to hang at an angle and overlap – with about 150 mm of space between them, depending on handlebar and pedal width.
Auto-lock hooks
A ball joint keeps the hook rigid when unloaded, so you can hang the bike easily. As soon as the bike is hanging, the lock disengages and the hook can be rotated and moved.
Load capacity
According to the manufacturer, each rail supports up to 100 kg and each hook up to 30 kg. You can extend the rail as much as you like using connectors.
Rim protection
The stainless steel hooks have a wide, replaceable polymer cover that distributes the load and protects rims from scratches. They fit tyres up to 3 inches wide.
Which SpaceRail is right for your room?
Ceiling mount
For garages, rooms, and sheds with a flat ceiling. The rail is bolted to ceiling joists, rafters, or beams, according to the manufacturer 60–70 cm away from the wall. Set for 4 or 8 bikes.
Wall mount
If ceiling installation is not possible: The rail sits on wall arms at a distance of 41, 53, or 65 cm from the wall. For concrete, brick, or wood, as a set for 4 or 8 bikes.
Freestanding
No drilling into walls or ceilings required: You can set up the freestanding unit wherever you have space. For 4 or 8 bikes and expandable later.
Rack mount
For workshops, rental shops, and storage: According to the manufacturer, it integrates the SpaceRail into pallet racks with supports 40–50 mm wide and 50–165 mm high.
For slanted ceilings, there is the angled mounting kit, which can be adjusted from 0 to 120°. Go directly to the sets: Ceiling· Wall· Freestanding
Stashed accessories: Hooks, adapters, and pedal protection
Single hooks
Additional SpaceRail hookswith auto-lock and 30 kg load capacity, including two 25 mm spacers for more distance between bikes.
Fat Tyre Adapter
The Fat Tyre Adaptermakes every hook suitable for tyres between 4 and 5 inches: Velcro strap around the wheel, hang the fat bike. Load capacity up to 30 kg.
PedalWrap
The PedalWrapneoprene cover protects overlapping bikes from pedal scratches. Sizes S, M, and L for pedals up to 75 × 90, 90 × 110, or 110 × 115 mm.
E-bike charging mount
The charging mountholds the charger on the wall: This allows you to charge your e-bike directly on the SpaceRail without removing the battery.
Installing Stashed SpaceRail yourself
According to Stashed, basic DIY skills are sufficient for installation. The substrate is crucial:
- The rail is screwed into load-bearing joists, rafters, or beams. According to the manufacturer, you must check for yourself whether the structure can support the load.
- For concrete or brick, screws and wall plugs are not included with the wall mounting kit – choose those suitable for your wall material.
- For indoor installation only.
- The spacers on the hooks determine the distance between the bikes – it is better to have a little more for wide handlebars.

Frequently asked questions about Stashed
Does MTB-Raceshop also install the Stashed SpaceRail?
Yes. Upon request, we will install your Stashed SpaceRail on-site – on the ceiling, wall, or slanted ceiling. Send us photos of the room and the number of bikes, and we will clarify the solution and effort with you in advance.
How much weight can the Stashed SpaceRail support?
According to Stashed, each SpaceRail track supports up to 100 kg and each hook up to 30 kg, so e-bikes can also be hung up. This assumes that the ceiling, joist, or wall can safely support the load.
How many bikes fit on a Stashed SpaceRail?
The sets for ceiling, wall, rack, and freestanding are available for 4 or 8 bikes. With extension sets, the Stashed SpaceRail can be lengthened as long as the mounting area permits.
Stashed SpaceRail on the ceiling or the wall?
The ceiling mount is suitable for rooms with a flat, load-bearing ceiling and keeps the floor clear. Use the wall mount if ceiling installation is not possible. The freestanding Stashed SpaceRail works without any drilling at all.
Does my e-bike or fat bike fit on the Stashed SpaceRail?
E-bikes fit as long as they weigh no more than 30 kg and the tyres are no wider than 3 inches. For fat bikes with 4 to 5-inch wide tyres, there is the Stashed Fat Tyre Adapter, which fits any SpaceRail hook.
How close do the bikes hang on the Stashed SpaceRail?
Because the hooks can rotate and slide, the bikes hang overlapping with about 150 mm of space instead of the usual 350–400 mm. How tight it can be depends on the handlebar and pedal width.
