Description

The Galfer Pro Brake Pad FD469G1554T fits into one-piece SRAM brake calipers on road bikes up to model year 2019 – Red 22, Force 22, Rival 22, Apex 1, and CX1 – as well as SRAM Level TLM and Level Ultimate from 2017 to 2019. The green Pro compound G1554T is Galfer's racing compound: highest braking power, very stable under heat, and according to Galfer, ready for use without bedding in.

Compatibility

According to Galfer, the pad shape FD469 fits these brakes:

  • SRAM Road: HRD up to 2019, All Road 2017 to 2019, Red 22, Force 22, Force 1, Rival 22, Rival 1, Apex 1 and CX1, as well as Red AXS with monoblock caliper
  • SRAM MTB: Level TLM and Level Ultimate from model years 2017 to 2019

Before purchasing, check the model and model year of your brake caliper or compare your old pad with the image and dimensions on this page. For Red, Force, and Rival AXS with a two-piece caliper, the FD427 shape fits (Galfer Road for SRAM Level, DB and Avid Elixir). For the Level TLM and Ultimate from 2019, Galfer specifies different shapes depending on the source – if in doubt, compare with your old pad.

Galfer Pro G1554T: the racing compound

Galfer gives the Pro compound top marks for braking power and fading resistance, and a good rating for wet and dirty conditions. Galfer rates the durability lower than that of the other compounds: Pro wears out faster and is intended for racing, bike parks, and long, steep descents.

  • Organic-semi-metallic, asbestos-free friction compound
  • Ready for use without bedding-in time according to Galfer
  • Progressive modulation and high temperature resistance
  • Green backing plate
  • Dimensions according to Galfer: 30.9 × 26.3 mm

Which Galfer compound is the right one?

We stock the FD469 pad shape in three Galfer compounds.

You can find more on the differences in our brake pad buying guide.

What's in the box

1 pair of pads for one caliper. For front and rear, order 2.

Disc due as well?

New pads only brake properly on a disc in good condition. Measure the disc when you change the pads: if it is below the minimum thickness, warped or deeply scored, it's best to replace it together with the pads. Matching Galfer discs:

Compare all discs: Galfer brake discs. With 2.0 mm discs, check that your caliper has room for them.

Installation and replacement

  • Always replace all pads in a brake caliper at the same time.
  • Push the pistons back straight before inserting, ideally using a plastic lever – never use a screwdriver directly on the piston.
  • Keep discs and pads free of grease; Galfer Brake Cleaner is suitable for cleaning.
  • SRAM specifies 3 mm as the wear limit for the pad and backing plate combined.

Frequently asked questions

Does the pad fit SRAM Force AXS?

No, Force AXS and Rival AXS with a two-piece caliper require the FD427 shape. The pad is suitable for the Red AXS monoblock caliper.

Does the pad fit my SRAM Level TLM?

Yes, for Level TLM and Ultimate from model years 2017 to 2019. For newer Level models, Galfer lists the FD427 and FD513 shapes.

Do I have to bed in Galfer Pro?

According to Galfer, the Pro compound is ready for use without any bedding-in time. Nevertheless, perform a few stops on a flat, safe section before your first descent so that you are familiar with the braking feel.

How long does a Galfer Pro pad last?

This depends on the terrain, weather, and riding style. Pro wears faster than the other Galfer compounds. If mileage is more important to you, choose Galfer E-Bike or Galfer Road in the same shape.

We supply Galfer brake pads from our Swiss warehouse. Unsure if the pad fits? Send us a photo of the brake caliper – we will tell you which pad is the right one.
