Description
With the Park Tool PP-1.2, you push the pistons of a hydraulic disc brake back into the caliper. Slide the flat wedge between the pads – or directly between the pistons if the pads are out – and push them back evenly. You'll need it when changing pads, when the pads rub, or when the disc no longer fits through the gap after refitting the wheel.
- According to Park Tool, fits most hydraulic disc brake calipers, including Shimano XTR
- Wedge 25 mm wide and 3.2 mm thick, inserts up to 26 mm deep
- Grippy dual-material handle
- According to Park Tool, not for calipers with ceramic pistons, e.g. Shimano road bike disc brakes. If in doubt, check your brake's manual.
Tip
Push the pistons back evenly, never with a screwdriver. Then pull the brake lever a few times until the bite point is back. You'll find new pads for your brake under Brake pads.
